Hey guys,
I bought right today my first Thumb. It's a '92 NT 5, for a nice price of 750€. That's why I couldn't resist :) Here are first pics:

Plays good, sounds sweet - gonna see if it's going to be a keeper :)

Why are these basses so freaking cheap on second hand nowadays ? I think it's reasonable price if it's half of the original price, if the condition is good, but 1/4 is not enough in my opinion. That's an old bass but looks like new, at least in the pic.
Congrats Felix !

Yeah, killer deal, that's what I thought, too. Thought they sell for about 1200€. The bass was not used for about 12 years and standing in the living room as decration...whatever :)

BTW: When did Warwich change to Bubinga Pommelé for the Thumb NT? Thats the only thing I miss at this bass: The pommelé grain...anyway, this does not change the tone.....raawrr :D

750 EUR for that? OMG... That's a great deal even with a broken neck. I used to have one just like that, 1992, it is an absolutely amazing bass! 750 EUR!!! Lucky basstard !

Played around with it a bit...I really like the old neck. It's a bit thicker than the new one on my Corvette, but not as thick as the older baseball profile. Feels great :)

Yeah, I have a '95 NT 6. The neck is thinner than my '03 BO 6. Those old Wenge/Bubinga necks feel like they're made of stone, don't they? Super-smooth and rock-hard.

my former thumb nt5 had a boring grain like yours but believe me it was one of the meanest bass i ever had:)
great score congrats!!!

Aahhh, no rehearsals the last two sundays. I wanna freaking know how it sounds over my stack!
BTW, I tuned it down one step which lets me play some of our songs more comfortable, or enables another line. Guess a thumb is one of the best basses to tune down...sounds great!

Balls, just balls! Ahahahaha...and it's so aggressive. Cuts through the mix nicer than my CS $$. I'm so happy right now :)

Love that model year - way to go!! I'd hop on it at that price as well - and if it was fretless, even better. You considering putting a 3-band EQ on it?

No, I don't think so. I usually don't EQ a lot. Boosting the lows and maybe cutting the highs if they are too much.

Oh, btw: Since when has WW put a 3-band-EQ in the Thumb NT?
