New Discontinued Basses???

Why is the Vampyre SN, Infinity SN, Dolphin SN, Katana Bolt-on and the Corvette Pro Line now in the discontinued bass section??? I personally think that these basses are awesome!!
Why Warwick, why?
 
Those basses are in the discontinued section............because those basses are discontinued........... :lol: :x
 
With the discontinuation of all three SN bass models, I guess our dreams of a SN Thumb have been crushed...

I guess they need the room on the manufacturing floor for the new hollow-body assembly line...
 
It's a shame they seem to have stopped making set necks, cause they do it right.
 
this is terrible news, the SN bass'es were awsome instruments, especially the dolphin and vampyre.

Hey hey, don't jump into conclusions here !!! :x :lol: But I'm expecting the worst...........I feel that the SN Warwicks were priced between the BO and NT Warwicks, and people generally prefer the cheaper Corvettes or the "real" old school Warwicks like the Streamer SS1/2 or the Thumb NT...........

+1, I would go for BO or NT, not a SN...
 
i would love a nt but the set necks seem really appealing, the sound of bolt on with the feel of a neck through. plus the 26 frets. just that many more tapping opportunities even if its only two notes
 
Maybe it's also because the SN models, the Infinity, Dolphin and the Vampyre are not as popular as the Thumb or Streamer. Of course, they are gorgeous basses............. :roll:
So would a SN Streamer or Thumb would have made more sense then ??
 
There's usually one reason why things are discontinued.Lack of sales! :wink:
 
Warwick knows what they're doing, IMO those basses weren't the choice of most people, even though they were more accessible than the NT versions. As JanVanHove said, maybe they need to make more space and they discontinued the basses that got less sales, not counting the Alien since its Warwicks acoustic line. All of them were great basses and we will still see them around at Ebay, but cheer up.. what about the 2008 models?! that star bass is just amazing!
 
I'm sure you guys are correct, sales (or lack of) is likely the key factor. But I'm curious if basses are like guitars in that set-necks have higher likelyhood of twisting versus neck-thru and bolt-on? Not sure if that's a fact, but I've heard that more than once. Anyway, no doubt a couple of those will be really missed...
 
Almost all of Gibson's guitars and basses are set necks, I've not heard a lot of horror stories about Gibson necks twisting. And if you think about it almost all acoustic guitars and basses are also set necks.

I'm sure sales (or lack thereof) is the reason for pulling those models. I'm glad I got my SN Dolphin cause it's an awesome bass. It's hard to compare to the neck through since they're so different, entirely different wood to begin with.
 
Me thinks: because too less people bought them!!!
Still use my Vampyre SN5 (2003); a great bass sounding more like a NT, no wonder: the neck goes almost half the body through!

1986 Thumb NT 5
1996 SS I 5
2003 Vampyre SN5
2005 Buzzard BO 4
 
I've got Vampyre SN. Love this instrument :) (though had to do small mode for better balance). I believe it would sound a bit different from NT model '
'cause of ovagkol neck vs. maple neck in NT.
 
Me too. The Vampyre is so versatile, just like many of the `Wicks, but people just have to a closer look at concerts. :wink:
 
The ended my three favourite models...

Proline, Infinity SN and teh Dolphin SN... now I'll have to save more money for a custom Inifinity cause it will have to be neckthrough... and I dont want F holes!

This is a little frustrating for poor music students like me...

maybe the SN option will still be available in the CS...
 
Yes. Soon, all our SN-basses will be CS-basses and more worth. :twisted:
