New Customshop Dolphin-wow

Yeah, I already wanted to start a topic on this bass yesterday, it really deserves recognition. I also dig the finish. Whoever ordered it really has style. The only thing I dislike is the fingerboard. Ebony fits to it much better... and maybe a matching headstock. Other than that it's really awesome. If I had the money and opportunity to swag it, I wouldn't hesitate for a second.

I've never tried a Dolphin Pro I. I would really like to though, they're supposed to be really comfortable. One question though:

As far as I know, around 1987-1988 Schaller presented to Warwick these crazy inlays with a Dolphin Shape.
Wilfer loved those crazy inlays, and after a while in 1988 Warwick launched the Dolphin Bass.
It's basically a Thumb with the upper left and the bottom right parts prolonged.
If you want to see a Dolphin fish in the Dolphin's body shape, look at the first picture of the custom bass on the gallery
Now think about a Dolphin fish, but not a real Dolphin fish, think about a Dolphin designed for some comics/cartoons, with a head much bigger than it is in real life.
Now maybe, you can see a Dolphin in that rombous body... :wink:

I really like this bass, another great testament to the custom shop.
Mr Rabble. I'm glad you mentioned that the Dolphin is basically a Thumb with those differences, I have often thought this when I look upon my two basses hung side by side on the wall. Although, sound-wise they are different beasts
altogether.

My heart skipped a beat when I did my daily CS skimming because I saw that the Dolphin number jumped from 1 to 2. My CS Dolphin should be done any time now...

Can you get Warwick to post all the pics of their CS basses from the original CS website? Ya know the ones from over the last couple of years. There were some REALLY great basses and a few super sweet Dolphins.
In fact, one of them was the inspiration for my CS Dolphin with the use of Zebrano wood for the body.
It would also be cool to have a page of the pics from the museum basses that they've been assembling and snatching up too~ I know there are some eye popping jaw droppers in there as well.
Like that Dolphin Double Neck 6 string that Ollie posted a week or two ago... :shock: :shock: :shock:
I'm sure these ideas are already in the works, or have been tossed around, but can you give them another nudge??
I'm also dying to see what Warwick has in store for us in 2007!
The 2007 LTD., The reissue(s), The NEW basses!!! WOW o WOW o WOW!!! Sounds like they've got a lot up their sleeves for us! My wife might have to hide my wallet.

When I was up in Germany in October, we talked about getting pictures and descriptions of all those custom basses to the website, and trust me, we have A LOT of custom basses and double necks hanging out in the factory, but right now with the amount of work that the new website takes, this is almost impossible. I will continue to try, but don't know what will happen.
I also got a chance to play a double neck Corvette and a double neck thumb in Ferrari red, definitely very nice basses.
About 2007, we have a few things planned for you, some of them were designed based on suggestions found on this forums, so thanks to all of you for your contribution to these projects.
