New and old wax????

When I bought my Streamer SS1-4 in 1992, it was delivered with a box of wax.
This wax was very "gluey", hard to extend on the surface and had a very good smell. For applying it, I put the box in hot water to fluid it a little bit and the finish after polishing was extremely nice.
Unfortunately, the box is now empty....

I recently ordered a new one but this is not the same product!!!!! more liquid, no smell and the finishing is not as nice as the old one...

Does somebody have an explanation? Does the product change? why?

I gave samples of of wax going back in the eighties

The recent ones are "creamy" and easier to apply. (which I think is a good thing)

Regarding the smell I have not noticed the diffeences.

I have not noticed any difference in the results but it is time for waxing and I will report

I found the same, my original wax from '89!! Always was very tacky- more like shoe dubbin, very strong smell. Not great to apply or buff off (come to think it never had a warwick label, just plain black tin but was supplied with the dolphin ) I bet it was shoe polish lol.
The new stuff I have is far creamier and not nearly as tacky. Easier to apply and not so much of an odour.

I don't agree...

What I liked with old one is that you could put it and then polish it to have a glossy nice surface.

This is not the case with the new one...never glossy! Satin aspect stays...

A question of personal taste.

If someone has a technique to gloss the surface (without varnishing ...I'm interested!
