I have a 2000 FNA jazzman Custom shop with a problematic neck.

I just bought a brand new corvette standard for $500.

My question is: will the neck from the new vette (Im assuming its a c-shape) fit into the pocket correctly of my Jazzman, even though the JM bass came with the flat profile neck.

Will these two work together??

It is not because of the neck profile...
We drill the holes manually when we mount the necks, to have the best possible joint. So the necks don't fit 100% if you try to change them...

Florin is right (of course!). I tried to swap the necks on two of my corvettes but discovered the holes did not line up. The thread on this is here:

BTW - a brand new standard for $500 is a GREAT deal - way to go!

What I don't understand is since the bodies are identical, how is it possible the holes on the necks show up in different places.

I have done some neck swaps and the holes were perfect and one where they were just a little different.I would have had to fill the holes and redrill them. Also some of the necks are slightly different in size were they mount to the body.I would try the swap and see how everything mounts up.

Another member swapped necks between his bubinga & ash Corvette std's once. But I think he was lucky the holes lined up.

you can try, why not... And tell us how it goes :-)
