Need help with Tubepath 10.1 2nd stage button

Hey guys, I just got a Tubepath 10.1 head and I got everything working. The thing is I can't figure out how to get the 2nd stage button to work. I push it in but when I do that, all the sound cuts out and if I play there is no sound.

Is there something I have to do other than just pushing the button? The head is brand new. Shouldn't this work?

So if anyone could tell me how to work the 2nd stage button I would very much appreciate it!

I have the same amp, the button on mine worked from the first day. a transistor fuse blew after pressing the 2nd stage button once, W repaired it under warranty without comment though. but it did not show any signs of life at all.

I am a bit afraid to suggest this, but you could try opening the head. ( be sure to unplug it from the wall). you might see the (larger) tube out of its place. it could have moved from its slot if the amp was sent to you by post. it is a rough ride for the package. try pushing the tube it back in.
take a look inside and check if the fuses are o.k., if not, I'd suggest showing the amp to someone qualified.
you will love the amp in the end, I guarantee that.

It cannot be a big thing, you can open the cover and look inside. Still, the safest way would be to return the head to be fixed. It seems like there is something wrong with the tube.
 
once upon a time i had a pro tube 9 with the same feature, and the same thing happened to me. it was some loose soldering, which is an easy fix. might try a new tube too.
