so I've checked the forums and haven't found any answers. I see that the s/n lookup won't work on a china made Rock Bass but I just picked this guy up for $300.
S/N is RB L 535958-14. All I can tell from what I've researched is that it was built in either Nov or Dec of 2014. I don't know anything else as far as type of wood used on body and neck etc.
If this is a cheap version of this bass is it worth upgrading the pups? I'm assuming these aren't the same as the ones put in German versions.

PUPs are the same AFAIK, the electronics are very different.

Well my bass is passive, what’s the difference in the electronics? Are they active pups? Or just active eq?

Active electronics with switches for humbuckers (serial, parallel, single). So the PUPs must be also wired differently. I don't think upgrading makes sense. You can find them for around 1.000 bucks.
You will find videos on YouTube under Corvette $$

Have you tried the serial look-up? Works for my RB serial.
