Hi everybody!
Seems like I am in a bit of trouble. Two problems with different basses, hope someone will be able to help.
First is regarding the brass JAN. When I play an open G string I can hear a loud buzz, but when pressing slightly down on the little screw in the nut where the string sits, the buzzing stops. The string is not touching any frets, so I figure the buzz comes from the nut. Has anyone had this problem?
The other thing is worse and happened to my other bass after couple of gigs. The neck has bowed back seriously and the strings don't seem to have the strength to pull it back. I loosened the truss rod completely but you still can even see the curve. I spoke to my luthier and the only thing we could come up with was shaving the neck a bit so that it would give in slightly. I'd a appreciate a different idea
The neck thing seems weird because the bass played fine all the time and I had no issues with it whatsoever.
Seems like a black cloud over my head.
Like I said, I'd appreciate some advice.
