Necks again,,,sorry

Is there any way to know what neck profile is on which bass? does Warwick have a standard that they follow for this? mainly dealing with 4 stringers!

the reason I ask is that over the past 6-8 months I have come up on some used Warwick deals. I can check out the local ones but have no way to know on the ones that are further away. and asking the sellers doesn't help as most don't know about it either.

I recently came up on a vette std an 02 I believe. the neck felt freakin huge, like a damn baseball bat. I tried it, played maybe 30 seconds and said to myself, no freakin way. this can't be a Warwick. it freaked me out that bad! LOL ..
awhile back I found a fretless vette std an 05 and the neck was just about the same as either of my mid 90's wenge necks..

so now I just found a streamer. but its over 150 miles away. I asked the guy about the neck profile, C shape, U shape??? he's clueless.

so is there any way to tell what model will have what neck without seeing it??

Generally - if the bass has an Ovangkol neck, it is likely to be a standard U shaped neck - the baseball bat in your words. Wenge necks, 1998 and older are generally a slimmer profile, more like the current C shaped necks. I'd bet that an '02 Streamer will have a U shaped neck as well.

My 07 SS2 has one of the fastest necks I've played.
It's C shaped(round) down near the first few frets,then it slightly flattens from about fret 12 & up.Like a compound radius I think it's commonly called.Makes for an extremely comfortable neck to play.
Whatever the case,every 4 string Warwick neck I've played always felt slim & fast,as opposed to the 5 string necks which always felt rounder & bulkier & filled my hand rather nicely.The 6 string necks felt quite flat & managable unless it was a BN,which just felt downright wide as buggery.Curse my stubby fingers.

yeah thats how both my mid 90's Warwicks are, super thin and fast. I would like to have more Warwicks with this profile.
but it just seems that Warwick follows no real path as to tell what neck is on what bass without seeing it and playing it!
it drives it crazy thinking about the basses that I have passed up because they were so far away and not knowing what profile neck is on them. its hard to blow a few hundred miles worth of gas just to play a bass for 30 seconds and not buy it if the neck is not the one you want.
