neck swap

'ello all,

i have a rockbass streamer 5 string, i was wondering if i could swap out the maple neck on it for a regular warwick bolt on neck. would it be possible? would the bolt pattern match up?

They look like interchangable, but that only looks so :) It's not a Fender - everything is much preciser. The W-company doesn't allow this changes, they don't sell necks separately. I wanted a RB Fortress with corvette neck once but I failed :( I've contacted the company and they cleared that it's not possible...
 
Yep... Warwick is pretty strict about just sending out replacements necks... I would be too... You see ALOT of fake fenders floating around ebay selling for quite a bit... They dont want that happening.
 
i always notice every once in awhile, that a warwick neck pops up on ebay. i was just wondering if i could use one. bah ,oh well.
 
Maybe Ollie can tell you if the bolt pattern is the same but yes the necks are readily available on EBAY...

Frankly, HPW told me they're not supposed to be interchangable... But, I'm going to make a try one day :)
 
Swapping necks can be a real tough job.You'll never get the tolerances the factory gets in neck joints.A better idea imo is to get some Warmoth parts & go nuts,that way your not going to wreck a perfectly good bass. :wink: On the other hand,it is your property. :wink:
 
I wouldnt mind getting ahold of an unlined fretless broadneck for my 6 string thumb ;)
 
it would be so great to have a fretted and fretless necks that you can swap readily.

planned to do that to my rockbass. they didn't reply to my e-mail query and after reading through the forums abt the policy, guess that's why they didn't bother to reply..
