Found this on ebay. Wondering if it will fit a Rockbass body. I imagine that the neck is thicker but wasn't sure if it would fit in the pocket. Thanks

I think the general rule is that you shouldn't expect to be able to swap necks between a RB and a Warwick. It might work, but don't count on it.

And then there's the fact that it's a short-scale neck. I would expect a short-scale neck to require the bridge to be positioned differently. In other words, if you swap a full-scale neck for a short-scale neck then you'll probably never get the bass intonated correctly. So you'd never be able to get the bass in tune.

Maybe I'm wrong, and maybe Warwick make their short-scale necks to compensate for the bridge placement. But again, I wouldn't want to count on it.

Finally, you need to know that Warwick never sell necks separately - they only ever offer to replace them (presumably so they can make sure the neck is an exact fit for the bass you want to put it on). So you'd be buying something that Warwick never meant to be on the market. And you're buying it from someone who got it cheap and then never used it. You might want to ponder why he never used it ....

Thanks Florin, that's good stuff to ponder. I just learned that Warwick is releasing medium scale RB in 2012 so I'll probably check them out as a safer bet.

Mart, you have been promoted to florin!

oops, don't know how the Florin/Mart mix up occurred. Anyone know of a release date for the medium scale 5'er?

Mister Jester knows lots about this stuff. He's swapped RB neck to a non-RB Wick and vice versa, AFAIK.

The neck pocket dimensions should be the same, but you will almost certainly have to drill new holes.
