Hi,

someone told me, that warwick has changed the neck dimensions of the standard-necks a little bit for the 2009 models, they should be a little bit thinner (this don't mean the broadness but the thickness). Is this correct? If yes, what was changed exactly?

yes they've changed that and it's official :)

I don't know the new dimensions, or if the change is great. I love old, thick Warwick neck...

The Warwick Cs-Site says:

............................Standard ........Flat Neck (C-Shape)
Thickness 1st fret ....21 mm............19.5 mm
Thickness 12th fret ..25.5 mm..........24.5 mm
Width nut................38.5 mm..........38.5 mm
Radius..................20" (502 mm).....20" (502 mm)
String spacing..........19 mm.............19 mm

But what's the difference to pre-2009 necks?

'Standard' is pre-2009, 'Flat' is a standard from 2009 on :)

'Flat' was a CS option until now, now it's standard and a thick neck is a CS option. That's what I understood ;)

i know everybody got their own taste but i need to let it out: the new necks are the bomb!!!

Warwick basses are usually soft to play, so these new necks in some way affect the tension of the strings?? I never want to change the soft touch of a Warwick for a hard as the Ibanez you understand?

I switched to Warwicks mainly because of the way the necks felt. I love the necks on all three of my Vettes. Could they possibly improve this? I hope they didn't mess a good thing up!!! Sorry to be such a pessimistic, but I always say "If its not broken, then don't fix it"!!!!!

They are still Warwick necks, not Ibanez. My new corvette is with the new profile, and it has the same Warwick feeling.
