Neck crack, what to do about it

I recently discovered that my Fender replica jazz bass developed a hairline crack at the back of the neck around the E string tuning peg area. I clearly remember that it wasn't there when I bought it.

I got it from a second hand shop when I went on vacation to Japan. Then I brought it home here in the Philippines, where climate is very hot and humid. I think that might be the factor. Or maybe I bumped the headstock in a few occasions.

Do I need to do something to stop the crack? Or just leave it alone as it is? Actually I wouldn't mind about them as long as they don't affect the sound quality of the bass or permanently damage the neck.

If there is any finish on it, I would lightly sand that off with high grit sandpaper, then use some Thin CA (this is very think superglue that flows like water, and will penetrate even the smallest hairline crack) to stop the spread, then sand that smooth, and refinish.

If there is no finish, I would just use the glue then sand/buff it smooth, if there is excess glue.

In either case, you may be able to get by without any sanding at all.

Superglue does the trick.
If you sand while the glue is still liquid the dust will
Mix with the glue and it will be next to invisible.
