i never got to listen to him, with the exception of a few youtube videos (with shitty quality), but my friend sent me art metal, all i can say is this is farking awesome! (sorry, im tired and bored which induces language in me for some reason, and i'm aware of it...) anywase, there is only one song that bores me (which is a good thing for a CD, there is usually a few that bore me). im curious to hear what he did with buckethead...

Jonas is awesome. To put it bluntly.
He's one of my all time faveourite bass players.
As for Art Metal,it's an amazing album that every metal bassist could do well to listen to.It's listed as jazz, but there's something there for fans of both genres.

I thought the cd with buckethead was good. not like the art metal cd at all, but good. The cd he did with Glen Velez on percussion is amazing too. I can't remember what it's called, but look it up.

His earlier work with the Johansson brothers is often overlooked, and totally awsome. Definately worth finding and checking out.

i cant find any hellborg on the internet, must be good tho if he does stuff with the guys out of malmsteen.

Andrew, how do ya like track 4?Solitude.

i think its all cool, except for natraja. my favorite is Manirambha, the guitar player has this awesome solo! after i listened to the track art metal, i said to my dad "that would be a pain in the ass to count."

"good people in times of evil" is awesome. I saw him when he was touring with that group of musicians. The Paris DVD captures that group nicely.

I'm a big fan of the Jeff Sipe/Shawn Lane era too.

Time is the Enemy is amazing.

Zenhouse is an acoustic masterpiece.

I've been collecting Jonas' cd's for almost 10 years, but it's hard to find over here in california.

Is it Mattias Eklundh that plays guitar on the Art Metal CD ? I know he plays live with Mr Hellborg but does he play on the album too???

EDIT: I listened to the album, and yes, there's no doubt about it: it's Eklundh on the CD. Sounds so much like him... He's got his own sound.

Jens now plays with Stratovarius and has also played with the likes of Allan Holdsworth and Dio. He is, in my opinion, one of the best keyboardists around. His brother Anders plays with Hammerfall.

The 3 of them together is some crazy stuff

Well, his name IS Hell-borg, so no wonder there has to be metal in the family.
