Hi everyone. This is my first post here, so I hope I'm in the right place!

In the post this morning I got an ash Corvette Standard 5 String, finished in Burgundy red oil, which I bought on ebay.

I just wanted to check some things.

First, my serial number is A-097704 03

Am I correct in thinking that this means that my bass was made in January 2003?

Also, because I have a coloured finish, I don't have to wax, correct?

Cheers

Correct! Jan 2003, no waxing needed, except for the back of the neck.

Welcome!

I'll need to get some wax then.

I love this bass so much. It just begs to be slapped! I just put some fresh strings on it and it plays like a dream. Beautifully set up. Lovely colour as well - a much darker red than some of the others I've seen.

Waxing the back of the neck is purley optional, I use lemon oil on mine & it doesnt get sticky & greasy like wax.

Some guys like the wax feel, some dont. Your choice!!

Pic, Pics, Pics.....

No pics, it doesnt exist!!

Welcome to the forum, Have fun!

Cheers

Rusty

+1,

and welcome to the forum too !!! :D Waxing is officially optional, but I see no good reason not to wax. The result is a great looking and feeling neck. I use Warwick's wax. 8)

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the bass.

The weather here is pretty crap today, isn't it!

EDIT*** that was my 2000th post, and now I'm a forum freak... woohoo!

No worries... :D

And yes the weather is pretty bad. :(

I'll see if I can get some pics up. Don't know where my USB cable is at the moment though. I guess I'll need some to join the Corvette club.
