Today I bought my first Warwick bass. It's Warwick Corvette Standard Ash ( natural oil finish ) and I am very satisfied with it.It's under one year old and it's in superb condition.The grain of the wood is very beautifull and what matters the most is the sound.When I pluged it in my amps ( Marshall B150 Combo and Kustom Groove 1200HD Amp and Kustom 410 Box ) the sound was far more overwhelming then it's eye-cathy natural finish :)
 
Hey,congrats & welcome.The bass you bought is a nice one,those passive Corvettes sound & feel real nice.
 
Yeah I know and I always liked the voice of good sounding passive bass...all I can say for this one is that it's amazing!One can literary feel and hear the wood that it's been made of :)

P.S. And I don't know why are some people complaining about "baseball bat" necks 'coz for me there was no need for adaptation from F**der Fretless Jazz bass.And I also like a little neckdiving...it feels kind of alive :)

I never understood why people call em' baseball bat necks. They just cant handle the straight up bitch'n power of a Warwick.
 
Nice bass!! I bought a STD/Active4 and have never looked back! I love the way 'vettes feel and sound and I love the body shape!

+1 I see so many people complaining about the neck shape and the basses neck diving... Aand out of all the warwick's I've had my hands on... I have neither problem.

Actually the pictures are taken from the guy that I bought it :)...the ovangkol textures of neck are very beutifull, the pictures just don't do them justice...

I agree that most people who complain about the necks usually havent really given warwick a chance...I guess in much the same way as I don't really give Fenders a chance. We all do it at least a little....

That said, there really is a world of difference between the gorgeous pre-96 necks, and the newer ones with the volute.
 
If it is unique or exellent sounding instrument the neck is something you'll just get used to along the way.That's my opinion.

P.S. In good hands every instrument can feel and sound good :)
 
True about Warwick's neck giving a chance. I used to played mainly on my Ibanez SR with a very small neck. So when I had a Warwick I needed a few weeks to get good adjusted to the thicker neck. But after awhile I noticed that my hand and wrist became more relaxed even when playing long on my Warwick. My Ibanez feels now a little too tiny.
