Haven't been here in a long while, but I figured I'd share my band's first EP that we just finished. All the instruments are improvised except for the basslines, most of which are either drenched in effects or played on a synthesizer. We try to keep the recordings as loose as we can, so we limit ourselves to 3 takes and do almost no editing. We record at my home on a korg 8-track recorder and mix in a (horrible bootleg version) of cubase. That being said I think we get a pretty good quality recording.
