Wow, I have always wanted to experiment with making a guitar into a fret less, I just for some reason did not think it was possible.

I converted an old washburn 7 string into a fretless guitar... And... I hated it Having such tiny strings means very little - no sustain at all. There is a fretless guitarist who uses glass fretboards and fernandes guitars with the sustain built in... I've never been a fan of fretless guitar though... Doesnt sound so great to my ears... I had to try making one though

Didnt Warwick make a 9 tone (Instead of 12) Thumb a while back... remember reading a Bass Player mag article on it somewhere..

Steve Vai has a 3 neck guitar and Im sure one of those necks is a Fretless.. doesnt sound half bad from memory.
