On the Warwick website, it shows the Thumb BO with a Bubinga body, ovangkol neck, and wenge fingerboard. All the ones I see for sale on US websites have ovangkol bodies. Are the bubinga bodies something new?

How long has the Thumb NT used the current combination of bubinga pommele for the body, ovangkol for the neck, and ebony for the fingerboard? I have a '95 NT 6, which is a spectacular bass, but I wonder if a new NT 6 would feel about the same? Also, with the ovangkol neck and ebony fingerboard, would it sound a lot different?

I'm thinking of possibly unloading my BO 6, as nice as it is, and getting another NT. However, it looks like I would have to order one sight unseen, as nobody around here has them.

Well, somewhere in th 90s BO Thumbs were wenge necks attached to either walnut or bubinga bodies. Then (I'm guessing) in the mid to late 90s, Ovangkol was the ideal body til just this year. as of 2011, Bubinga is the body for the BOs now.

Around 1999 or 2000, they started using ovangkol with bubinga strips and bubigna pommele bodies for Thumb NTs. I dunno exactly when Ovangkol with Ekanga stripes and Ebony FB became offical though. I think 2004 or so.

Neck sizes have changed too. C shaped during the 90s, U shaped '00s to '07, and back to C shaped, again.

Alot of people say that they sound similar, except that Wenge Necks sound a tad warmer.
