Went to the studio yesterday and got the drum tracks recorded for three songs. Because my bass was di'd for the guide tracks I thought I would post you a preview of how things are sounding. This is my $$ corvette in single coil mode, treble full and bass near full, through the X-TREME.

This is just a guide track as we will be using the di, a mic on the cab and the tweeter. I am open to any suggestions on how to improve my bass lines and my first bass solo. I know some things need to be tighter but I mean suggestions for making the lines more interesting or just better.

The guitars were also direct to the desk hence not sounding that great. But like I said it's just guide at the mo. No vocals are included currently. These recordings are here for practice use.

Any way have a listen and hopefully enjoy.

Or I would if I could get the attachment function to let me. Help

Got it now. I had to reduce the sample rate.

Yeah, if the form doesn't work, try uploading it to rapidshare or megaupload or something like that :)

Thank you people. Got my parts to record properly tomorrow. As much as I frustrate myself with my mistakes in when recording, I love being in the studio.
 
Listening to it now, and it sounds incredible! \m/ makes me wanna play along (:<

Anyone notice that bass solo?
 
On the final mix I'll be getting that boosted a little so it's more obvious. I hate hearing a bass solo that is still at normal mix volume, meaning you can't actually hear it.

The first question though, is it any good? That's my first bass solo and I do worry if it's crap or not.

Hehe, that bass solo rocked! It totally added a lot of flavor to the mix!
 
Cheers dude. I am so unused to lead work myself so I guess I just need to be more confident about stuff like that.

btw do you play with a pick?
 
Yeah I use a pic and I'm using both in single coil. My Solo has since changed after recording it and being told it is out of time and doesnt add anythign to the song except a distraction. With a little help from the engineer, a clip of the solo section minus the bass and some guidance from my cousin I've got it and I can feel a hell of a difference when I play it.
 
Sounds immense! Loving the tone there!

How is it like playing with a pic on the corvette $$ where there's two massive humbuckers in the way? Some people have said the humbuckers get in the way of playing.
