So I check out the forum and see 14 posts by newbie Monty, all of which are links to porn sites. I think the spam poster has appeared! Good bye Monty!!!

Beware of porn sites, they are loaded with parasites and crap. I clicked on one that was disguised as a Sarah Brightman fan site and it took a weekend to get that garbage of my computer, and it never ran the same after that.

Um, you DO realise that these are bots, not actual people... computer programs something akin to a virus which enter a forum and then automatically post this stuff.

Yep. We had the same problem last year but solved it when Ollie had to verify all new users
 
Unfortunately, I only have mod powers on parts of the forum... I've deleted all the porn I can, but I can't moderate the Custom Shop section, so either Florin or Oliver will have to take care of that, and they're both at the 25th Anniversary this weekend... I'm sure they wont' touch a computer for another 36 hours at least.

Sit tight... we'll get rid of the porno! 8)

Seems the bots are replying as well as creatin' new threads. Andasuming multiple ID's, the wily bastards.
 
it's imperative to not reply in any of the spam bot topics. just let them be, and ollie will take care of them.

i wrote a post some time ago when the forum was first under the attacks of spam bots
 
Don't reply on them... just let them be. Oliver and Co kills them as soon as they are back from the party.
 
I'm sure we are all mature enough to handle it and hopefully smart enough not to click on any of these foul links.
