I'm like Bassman Sax - don't much care for slap, but that is pretty sweet.
 
I quite like the backing tracks he's getting from that Line 6 Spider Jam.I had no idea such an amp exsisted.The closest thing I was aware of was the Fender B-Dec,but now I see there's also the peavey Vypyr & Roland Micro Cube RX.All basically do the same modelling/effects/drum machine type thing.I was looking at a new living room amp,I might have to try these little monsters out sometime.

Two questions:

1) How can someone NOT like slap? It's like playing bass AND drums at the same time... :o)
2) Is it possible to play slap bass and not make a bunch of goofy faces and motions?

Both questions are of course in good fun...

I wont deny that there is some skill involved with slap but it does not flick my bean for me. Nothing about it makes me go wow that sounds good. As impressive as Dream Theatre are I get bored. I prefer some strait up heavy rock and roll such as Motorhead, where less is more.

I prefer Billy Sheehan as opposed to Les Claypool, and Geezer Butler instead of Flea.

It comes down to taste. I can't understand how people can listen to the drivel known as Indie that's on the radio and not appreciate Metal where the bands can actually perform live, but that's how the world goes. I don't know how my Girlfriend doesn't like Sticky Toffee Pudding.
