That latest Custom Infinity got me inspired on blue for some reason. Pickups, what about putting on some bartolinis? to change the standard setup of the Stage I.

Looks like a nice project bass, Is the truss rod functioning alright?
I would try and look at as many differently finished streamers as possible and then just decide whichever you fancy.
Keep us posted throughout the project if you can, would be fun to watch it develop.

. I'm sorry I thought you were referring to the Pickup Brand. Well, I like the MM/J combination on my Jazzman but MM/P sound very interesting indeed.

Man, if you get that thang "au natural", Wow! Naked is good!
That blue/gun metal streamer body we saw a few days ago in another thread looked pretty slick, but for me it's tough to argue with a "natural" finish.
Either way, there's a beauty underneath that paint, since it's routed for P and J pickups, there's a lot of possibilities as far as pickup choices.

i was thinking about converting mine into MM/P Bart combo, but discovered that the J pup hole is 97mm long. MM pups (Bartolini's MMC at least) are 101mm long, and have one srcew mounting "ear" at the bottom / south, and two "ears" at the top / north side.
well, the the bottom is not that much of a problem, except the nice rounded "ear" would end up in a square hole, bit too big for my taste, and the top of the J hole would be just between two top mounts.
i did the test run on a piece of scrap wood, and it looks plain ugly, the gap is too big to be seen on a Warwick!
if you decide to go with Barts i would suggest one of the soapbars - BC (32x100 mm), wider BD (36x100mm), or M4 (38x102mm), last being of a EMG 40 shape. they're all square, big and great sounding pups.
tha other option would be filling the J hole with something like epoxy / wood sawdust mix, and rerouting it for MMs. in that case youd have to give up natural finish, which i think would be a shame.
the wood on your new baby looks much better than what i've found when i've stripped my streamer, and IMHO would look better with just a clear or slightly stained finish. walnut, maybe? would be pitty not to be able to see that flame figure...

switchable HB is what i'd go for, too. i don't know what do you plan to put into the control cavity, but there should be enough space for a mini 3way on/on/on switch.
me, being huge fan of Noll electronics, i would go for one of their Mixpots - active mix control for blending two signals together to a mono buffered output. two independent channels allow to preset (trimpot) the amount of boost up to +18dB, and you get bass, treble and phase trim control for one channel.
that for the bucker, leave P alone, and you'd have a long summer rediscovering onboard tone shaping!
it is a bit big, but makes a huge difference.

But I will but in a Aguilar OPB-3 Preamp..
Have the Humbucker or Musicman pickup splittable.
Maybe have a splitt on the P-pickup aswell, so that I can have like Hum + P-pickup (only on D,G string) Maybe will be a cool think.
