The Framus and Warwick Custom Shop is now proud to offer yet another custom wood: Mahogany Pommelé. This exclusive option is available for all Warwick and Framus Custom Shop Instruments.
The spread of Mahogany runs from the Cote d´Ivoire across Ghana to Uganda. So this prevalently appearing species is not endangered. These trees grow to 60 meters high, and 30 meters of its height are branchless. In exceptional examples of these trees, this naturally resonant wood has an exceptional visual design. This design can only be detected on the standing tree by specialists.

Our exceptional Pommelé Mahogany was found at the Ogooué-Basin in Gabun. The evacuation of the bole became difficult because it was air-lifted by helicopter out of the woodland to leave the vegetation in the Delta undisturbed. The bole came to Germany by ship where it was cut specially for our Custom Shop under the control of the Warwick experts.

Mahogany = awesome tone.Sorry Ben,I'm not much of a tone critic.
 
Mahogany is well-known to be an incredible tone wood with great, musical sustain. Add the beautiful look of Pommele and all I can say is, WOW! :shock:
 
very nice, can we expect to see this wood on future stock bass'es, or just stricktly CS???
 
in the news article it says it is for the custom shop, I imagine its quite expensive

Oh, man. That's about the last thing I needed to see today!

Both of my Wal basses have mahogany bodies. It has a very warm, very deep tone with tons of sustain.

The pommele looks stellar...
