Found this on ebay. Let's hear the opinions.. I think it's a case of love or hate.. :D
Cheers

i realized it was a flag on the headstock only after 5 mins of thinking some 2 y.o. kid just covered the W with a black marker :D

Paint = Yuck

I even seriously dislike Ritter's "American Bass" or something named similarly; it's got bunch of American flags, and it's done neatly, but still, painted instruments are horrible in my opinion.........

I'm pretty sure Oliver doesn't want that kind of paint job as well on his custom Infinity NT, with hand picked Buckeye Burl top...........

Which got finished this week. :P.

I'll bet the bass looked a lot better before they took the paint gunto it.

i've never liked the american flag anyway, or the british one thinking about it.

Hmmmm...

...maybe one with the swedish flag..... Sky blue and yellow .... NOT.

I love it! This is a great opportunity to buy cheap a good instrument. All you need after that is some chemical stripper, sandpaper, steelwool, tru oil, and some free time :-)

........Buy it cheap..................hmmmmm..............

you're a smart person.......

Not my thing.... But i bet ya it sounds good  Anyway I live in Denmark... Playing that on the 4th og July would just make me look like an idiot

Well I have done it before, buying a Thumb NT 5 , from 1992 , with 800 EUR.The bass was horible refinished.
I had to sell it last month... with 1300 EUR.

Wow,

800 Euro for a NT Thumb; that's a bargain..............even if it had a flag painted on it by a 5 year old kid.............

It was a GREAT instrument. I am sorry I sold it!

I suddenly have this childish fantasy................

of getting an ugly painted Thumb NT, and once sanding the horror away..................I discover the most beautiful grain of Bubinga pommele, all shining...........a treasure !!!!!

Here are pictures :-)

I don't have pictures with the bass before, but believe me... it was horrible!!!
