We were talking about effect loopers and that got me thinking.
Does anyone have any experience with Boss LS-2? Is that a good looper?

As well, has anyone any experience with the DigiTech JamMan Solo?

I'm looking for something in the $200 or less range.

Are these things super useful, or are they more of a novelty?

I like the Boss RC-2. It's the cheaper model & has a drum machine built in, unlike the bigger, more expensive model loopers from Boss.
Used on ebay they're around $200.
I dont have any experience with the Digitech.
 
I have the digitech one in my shop, and it is very fun to play with :-)
 
I mess about with my Akai Headrush at home and it can lead to some interesting creative moments (try looping a bassline that you know/play regularly and then come up with something melodic to go along with it... gets you thinking about variations and additions to your original line). They are pretty reasonable priced and though you're unlikely to use the delay features it has, it makes a simple to use live or home looper.
 
Thanks guys! I may go with the DigiTech when I scrape up more money (I just bought a guitar...heh heh...)
