Old 'vintage' thumb. Looks in good condition for its age. Seems pricey and has a lacquer 'sticky' finish on the neck. What do you think?

Just interested...Like everytime I see a nice WW popping up on Ebay :)
 
I'm sure this has been on for a few weeks now.

Lacquer on an early thumb neck just looks so wrong to me :)
 
Fooling with the finish on a Thumb Bass should be a criminal offense, regardless of if this was Dave Bronze's bass or not. (You might be able to verify if this indeed was his bass, as I think he has a website. Last I knew, he was touring the U.S. with Robin Trower.)

As far as the current owner selling it because he's 36 and it's too heavy for him? Well, as they say, one man's meat is another man's poison.
I'm 47 and I play between 2 and 4 nights a week, usually nothing but Thumbs.

It's possible to remove the laquer. :wink:
Which, by the way, isn't original.
Back in those days, the lacquer used by Warwick wasn't see through.

makes sense, i saw a quite old streamer s1 on e-bay with a laquer that wasnt see through
