Don't waste your time looking for parts, just go to warwick.de and get them directly through the manufacturer's shop. Why? well here's my story:
Last week I scored a German made Corvette $$ that the store had mispriced as a used "Rockbass".
I was comparing two Warwick Corvettes, and noticed one had 2 humbuckers while the other had 2 single coil pickups. Then I noticed the frets on the bass with humbuckers were brass, while the other one was not. Then I realized the neck was not maple, and I knew right then one was special. I purchased it for $550.00 and took it home.
At home, a closer exam showed the nut was damaged and needed replacement. I quickly discovered it is practically impossible to get parts in the US. Not worried, I went to the Warwick shop and found all the parts I needed. The postage rate was a shock though. So I spent the next 10 hours online looking for store or Warwick distributer in the US, then Canada, then the UK. I found nothing except an auction on Ebay which had 6 days on its timer, and no guarantee I would even win if I bid.
Tired and frustrated, I decided if I was going to pay 60 Euros for shipping, I might as well get a brass nut instead of the synthetic. So I went back to the Warwick Shop, and purchased the brass nut, straplocks, beeswax polish and allen wrenches which came out to about $289 US. By the time the sale was completed it was 2 am, and I quickly passed out.
Next morning when I woke, I checked my email, and there was a message from Warwick saying my order had been shipped. Pretty impressive to have my order shipped in less than 5 hours. Two days later, the package was here in Seattle. The part was easy to install and for less than $900 US, I now have an awesome $2500 bass (and there is a difference, the solid wengie neck is just amazing in feel and tone when compared to the maple).
Don't get upset at Warwick about the FedEx Global price...it is not thier fault. The reason it is so expensive is for all the 'security' hassles the US requires. My package had stickers on it requiring x-ray examination! For a brass nut? (This isn't a practical safety precaution, it is more racketeering...the inflated rate FedEx charges is to pay for the special scanning equipment, just like the TSA airport scanners. Cost for this equipment is passed on to the consumer through these fees. And if you do think it is practical, you probably belong to the Tea Party as well.)
