I keep trying to fill out an inquiry but I don't seem to be having any luck getting it to send.

My hand keeps tiring out when I play my Thumb Bolt-On 5. I've considered many options including selling or trading the bass but since I've owned it for 10 years and it holds a lot of sentimental value to me,...I'd like to keep it. I'd like a slimmer neck profile and am wary of reshaping the existing neck for fear of ruining the structural integrity of the neck. The neck is still intact and in perfect condition,...it's just too big for my hands and is now turning into a significant problem whereas before I thought I'd just get used to it.

I'm open to material changes or possibly carbon graphite if that is even an option.

Please advise.

Hey man. Unless the neck is really damaged (like, snapped in half or with a massive chunk missing) you won't be able to get a replacement neck directly from warwick - and even if that happened, I think they would only send you a direct replacement and not a slimmer profile neck. So, you're only other option will be to buy a neck made by a third party. I have no idea how much it will cost, but I would imagine it could start to get quite pricy

You could try tracking down another warwick 5 string, like a Streamer Standard or something to salvage the neck and reshape it?

Otherwise I think you'd have to get one built by a local luthier.

You should take a look at - the guy there has the same issue and there are some good ideas for what to do.

I noticed that thread after I posted mine; should have done my research better :/

The truss rod channel issue is my main concern. I think the reshape is going to have to be so radical that it will affect the strength of the neck and possibly dig into the truss rod channel.

You can't even get the custom shop to fit a slimmer neck?
