I installed 2 switches that can split the MM pickup coils.
I can control each coil separately.

I don't understand... The one switch setup allows you to go parallel/series/single right? What can you do with the 2 switches now? Are they 2 way or 3 way?

It goes like this:
1. both switches are 2 way (dpdt).
2. If both coils up its series
3. If both coils down its parallel
BUT
4. if one is down and the other is up, only one coil (single) is on, depends which one

That's it, now the bass is even MORE versatile !!!

I really, really wish all MM humbucker switches on Warwicks were top single/parallel/bottom single like on the 2010 LTD as opposed to the regular serial/single/parallel. If I take the bass into the shop, would that be a relatively easy mod?

Also, why wouldn't you wire it in such a way that the original switch does what it originally does, but the second switch is a 2 way that controls which coil is being used? That is, switch 1 is series/single coil that the other switch is selecting/parallel, and the other switch is top coil/bottom coil?

I think it's just a matter of changing which wires go to which pole on the switch.

Yes it is a very easy mod:



Stock wiring is one of the two bottom ones in the left top frame. What you want is top right frame, bottom schematic. I 'm about to do it on a pair of Nordstrand Dual Coil humbuckers, that's how I found this info.

Wow, thanks for the info, but I'm still too terrified to do it myself. I guess what this means is that it's a cheap mod!
