Living room concert

That an Alembic Rogue 8 string with LED's.It's sitting to Trips left in the video I posted with it's LED's left on.He plays this bass in other youtube videos.

Like I say I respect the talent, but I can't listen to someone play the bass for hours on end.

+1. He is very talented but for me, just like a groove is missing something without bass, I miss the other instruments as well. I own Marcus Miller "Silver Rain" because the grooves are solid with other instruments. I like Seth because of the melody and lyrical content. Adam Nitti is awesome with a drum machine going. Mr. Manring is talented but his bass sounded kind of "whaleish" or like a trumpet. Just me extra 2 cents

This could degenerate very quickly, could be fun.

I feel a stirring in the dark side of the manring.

Luke, use the manring.

May the manring be with you.

He was seduced ny the dark side of the manring.

:D

Just be glad you don't have this guy in your living room:

Once you've watched the vid, read his BIO!

I can speak several languages.... Manring Chinese being one of them.

I like Florida oranges but the Manring oranges are the best.

Dog, I work in an ED in Utah, this guy would be one of the most with it people I see.

now: it's your father's manring, he wanted you to have it when you were old enough. :D

Is Michael the great manring...the one manring that binds all other manrings??

I think that's a bit unfair. He's not THAT bad. Listen to his version of Stevie Nick's "Landslide"

Besides, I see a guy hurting. I think he's ill in some manner. And yes he's not the best musician in the world, but he does put his heart into IMHO.

yeah gerry i agree with you 100% but thats the point...i wouldnt listen to manring while wanting to listen to a "bass line", i'd listen to him wanting to listen to "music" if that makes sense

Perfect sense young man. If he makes you feel something from what he's doing then musically he succeeded. I like some solo instruments but I guess I'm stuck in "old school" mode when it comes to bass so my opinions will often seem 1 dimentional. Good point though

I see bass as a rhythm instrument, not a fan of solo bass. Even Entwistle's stuff got old after the wow factor wore off. Check out most solo bass stuff, there well at the top end of the strings and board, ie. into guitar territory for the vast majority of what they do.
