ok i ahev been at bording skool 4 four years and i have a 4 year old bro i hardly know right
but im liven at home again n have been 4 3 mouths and hes like miny me he has a elctric guitar but he keeps say he wnts a yellow bass so im think of getn him a bass any idear i wnt it to be full scale so he wnt grow out of it and hes not a small kid so hell be right
any idears ??
 
What is your budget? Are you paying, or your parents?

I'd reccomend an SX or a Squier,

I don't know if you have dyslexia, if you haven't please watch your spelling. I myself am from The Netherlands and try to mind it as much as I can.

If you are dyslectic, I am not try to bust your cohones believe me I've seen the hardship a friend of mine had to go through.
I just don't really like the MSN type of spelling one sees more and more these days.
 
And a bit of grammar/punctuation would make understanding a bit easier :wink:

Possibly Hohner's least expensive headless bass [Steinberger copy]. That way the bass is not so huge, but the scale is full scale, for him to grow into. Adults play these regularly, but it will be smaller and have no neck dive which are especially good things for such a young player.

Also, if he knocks it around as youngsters will do, there is no headstock and tuning keys to damage. He is also less likely to damage things around the house by batting them with the bass, since it is shorter in overall dimension. I use one for crowded conditions myself, so I don't smack into people and things :-)

You're going to teach a 4 year old on a 34" scale bass?The bass is longer than he is,he'd be lucky to be able to reach the 12th fret,let alone the 1st.I have a 4 year old & have considered when would be the right time to tech him bass & I've come to realise,it's far too early in life for him.So I've got him drumming instead,for now.

If the guit's full sized it might not be that big of an issue.

I'm not sure where Yass is personally, maybe he's just learning English, I say more power to ya mate (if that's the case).
 
You could always go with something like this: 27 inch scale (or something like that)...

Tune it as a piccolo bass, one octave above standard bass (so like the four lower strings of a guitar...) so you'll be able to have fun with it as well...

sorry about my spelling im not sure if i have dyslexia but i have never been good at spelling i am sorry
hes fairly big and yes i am paying for it myself
he can reach the 3 fret on my rock bass so yeah i dont realy care what it sounds or looks like it just needs to be fairly cheap but most of all strong im think a fender because i had one when i started and one guy at my school hit some one with it in the head and the bass was fine

This is probably the least hostile forum you`ll ever encounter, and a place where you can get help with almost everything, as long as we can understand what you are looking for. To understand your needs, we need to understand you.

Those last two post of yours, shows that you really can if you want to, and I salute you for that effort. And the more time you spend with us here, the better your grammar will be too. And if you need help with school-related stuff, just make a post and I`m sure someone will aid you in the most positive manner. 8)

sorry its just like everwere i go as soon as i write i get told that and my hand writeing is realy bad as well so i get fired up about it realy easy im so sorry im not normaly like that

I think you're missing the point, as I said in my first reaction, I'm not saying my English is flawless. However I try to give my best every time, proper spelling/typing is necessary to insure proper communication.

Alsik in hetNederlands gatypensnap jeerniksvan... This is Dutch and typed in a bad way, I don't think you can understand.
Good spelling/typing doesn't only help you get your answers faster it also shows consideration with the readers.

This forum(as I've learned) has a rather wide spread emphatitic capacity, so there is no need to feel attacked, most of the folks here love to help someone...
