It says the 2x8" ce has a sensitivity of 97db 1w1m with a resonant freq of 45Hz and the 4x8" ce only 94db with a resonant freq of 68Hz? This means two 2x8 cabs are at least three times as loud as one 4x8 cab and go almost an octave lower.

Am looking for something more portable for the small venues but I can't make any sense from these specs. I hope they are wrong.

Look if W don't clear this up I will play thru Kustom cabs for the rest of my life!!!!! 8:

What?? Warwick messing it up with specs on their web site... you must be kidding!

:)

Best W amp rant evah!!! (look for the best W bass amp rant evah in my signature).

Can anybody please give me some REAL specs on these cabs? It's gonna be either a combination of lightweight WCA 408 LW CE + WCA 115 LW CE (of which I can bring just one for smaller gigs) or a single Barefaced BigTwin 2...

The Barefaced is pushing out 100db @ 1w1m with max continuous spl of 133db and has low colouration. The WCA with celestions will probably add some warmth to the tone, which is good.

Or maybe simply two 4x8" cabs, if they go low enough.

Dimarco -
I understood that to be the resonant frequency of the driver used in the cabs. If you look at the frequency range given I guess that that is the -3dB point - given that the 208 goes down to 100Hz and the 408 down to 65Hz the low end has been traded for sensitivity... and while for a given value, say 1w at 1m it will be quieter you can feed in twice the amount of power...
so my guess is lower but more power-hungry.

I've been looking at cabs, and cab design for a few months - tempted to design and build my own cabs....

I must say that when the Warwick neo cabs came out I thought (apart from the ones the OP meant ions) the specs looked fairly realistic - So so so many cab designers seem to have marketing departments that miss out half the info you need, so suddenly everything gives 150db, down to 20Hz, weighs 5kg and will make you the most sexually attractive member of your band.... :(
Warwick's figs look like the website intern got the numbers from the engineers, stuck them up with one or two mistakes, and didn't tell the marketing department..... :)
