Let's design the next LTD Warwick!

After the success of the SingleCut design Contest, that Warwick wonderfully have done along with all forumers, you think that maybe they will allow this next year to open a contest to design the next LTD 2012?? what think about it?

Will be possible for Hans Peter Wilfer knowing about this?

I don't put the rules, but I think it would have to take into account these aspect:

1) You have to make the same design led to three Body shape options: Corvette, Streamer, Thumb, because we don't know which model they will have in mind for that year, and i don't think that Dolfhin, Fortress, Vampyre, Katana will participate as LTD Model.

2) We should use the ingredients allowed en Custom Shop options only

3) Your design must be nothing too exotic like Ritters, but not so simple as SX basses :lol, you must think like a businessman, the bass should have a majority acceptance IMO

4) Because the price is something that we complain a lot, I suggest that the bass should be Bolt-On, this may reduce costs somewhat

I don't have any other ideas in this moment.. Let me know what you think
 
So, how do you want us to come up with this idea? Make a model like Randy does? Or just post a type up of what we'd like it to look like?

But i don't make the rules.. lets see what happens if the idea is accepted.. i hope! for now, lets start with something.. a sample is always going to like

after all - the Thumb SC and the Vampyre are customer designed:-)

so I think we would get nice results
 
I also think this is a great idea as long as we can keep ourselves under control. Two of FunkyMan's points are very good ones, and we need to take account of them if we're to produce anything viable:

Just to clarify: all of FunkyMan's points are good, but those two are ones we often overlook.

Also the Katana. They were made after "build your dream bass" contest.
 
Maybe BO Katana would be good. Or the first BO Dolphin! Either would be sweet! The Katana could have a fatty burl top.....I'm excited!

So Hans Peter Wilfer told me that this is not a bad Idea, but we should discuss it in January.

Seeing how thats only a couple of weeks away, I don't mind waiting. Besides, It gives us more time to dream.

Well, if it becomes official, we have a year of trial and error.. i know something Unique will born:d
 
I'd say basically redo the "Dirty Blonde" into a Streamer LX. Not really but....

I was thinking of an idea for the LX and after realizing all the similarities I had in mind, pretty similar but here is what I am thinking:

Spalted Maple Body Front
Swamp Ash Back
Matching Headstock
Ebony/Tiger Fretboard
Flamed Maple Neck or 5 pc Maple with Wenge/Ovangkol/etc stripes
Twin J/J pickup soapbar, without wood cover, plain black s good
3 band EQ, Toggles for each pickup
Satin Finish
Black Hardware
4 and 5 string (Broadneck for 5 string)


I am sure we will still be discussing by January, only 2 weeks til then.

My choice 2012's LTD is a BO Thumb.

Neck: Flamed AAA Maple Neck w/ 3 Wenge Stripes
Shape: C
Fingerboard: Snakewood
Inlays: Spirit
Body: Ovankol w/ Tigerwood 1" facing/top
Matching Headstock: Yes
Pickups: Bartolini J/J
Preamp: Bartolini 3 band EQ (Stacked Vol/blend, Mid, Mid Sweep toggle switch, Stacked Bass/Treble)
Hardware: Gold
Finish: Satin
 
Really nice idea, some ideas as I´m writing this

Streamer LX,
A fancy top wood, or a sanded ash top like the Vampyre Dark Lord .
Ebony fretboard with white abalone block inlays.
Black hardware (I hate gold, and chrome looks too normal).
P/TJ pups, passive pups and 3 band active EQ. Active/Passive modes.
4 and 5 string versions (5 string with BN?).


What do you think? :)
 
I would love to see a bolt on thumb with:
an ebony board,
1" ebony top on bubinga body
mirror P's (or P/TJ)
3-band EQ
black HW
Roman numeral inlays like the Entwistle alembics (the III, V, VII, IX, XII etc)
 
Quick question guys: When do we get to see the 2011 LTD edition? Is it in January?

I'm getting a little bit excited lol

Probably at NAMM (Jan 13-16) along with the new amp range. Certainly the 2010 LTD was at last year's show.
