I made my passive Corvette ProLine to active, changing the pickups to MEC active and adding the MEC BEC lll preamp. And when the BEC gave up, i put in the Aguilar OBP-3 preamp. I use 400 Hz and 800 Hz (with a pull-push pot) for the mids.

I took out the MEC BEC ll from my Corvette Standard fretless and put in the Aguilar OBP-3, The midpot are fixed at 600 Hz (fretless bass loves 600 Hz).

I installed an Aguilar OBP3 in my '00 LX5 and then I put 9J Barts in and now I have Aero Type1s installed.

I retrofitted the jan1 onto my 6 string thumb... Along with changing the neck shape a wee bit by flattening the back a bit more. And I oil/wax my bass way too much :)

Installed an Aguilar OBP-3 into my '01 Infinity.

Replaced the MEC 3 way in my thumb with a OBP 3 and replaced the pups with Bartolini classic J's. Then replaced the Bartolini's with a set of Nordy NJ5's.

The NJ5's made my thumb sound like love to my ears.

4 finger ramp
4 band audere preamp with z switch
Bartolini CBJD pickups
kill switch ( a la buckethead)
hipshot d-tuner
switch from justa nut 2 to just a nut 1

and hot pink DR coated strings
javascript:emoticon(':D')

-fretless streamer lx with noll 2 band eq and barts, custom schaller tuners, ats knobs
-infinity nt 5 with delano pups, vol / vol and alembic low pass filter, ser/par/single coil switch for tj

Only modded my Corvette Standard fretless: upgraded pickups to Bartolini 9CBJD noiseless dual in-line hum-cancelling and added a Hipshot Xtender D-Tuner to my E string.

No modding needed for my Corvette $$ 5 string :)

The only thing I have lined up for my vette fretless is to switch out the chromeware for black and to get some bubinga knobs. The pickups are fine for me at this point.

I actually loved the way my MEC p/ups sounded, but they were just too noisy in the places I usually play. That was the main reason I switched to the Bartolini dual in-line coil hum-canceling p/ups.

I do find the Bartolini p/ups to be a bit warmer and smoother - not as aggressive in the growl - than the MEC p/ups, and it works nicely with the fretless mwah...

I ve oiled my SSII using Tru Oil. That's all, I am very happy with her :-)

i'm gonna put the EMG-Js which are in jazzbass into my '92 proline :D

which BARTS on my FRETLESS?

i own a corvette passive fretless 4 bubinga bass. looking to upgrade stock passive MEC's to Barts for more transparency (that fretless/upright bass sound) plus i need more gain than the stock pups & some more dynamics, don't wish to lose growl or clarity. i do not wish to change the equalizer only the pickups. please tell me if the best choice for this is the 9CBJS1-single coil low noise, deeptone; 9CBJD1-dual inline coils deep tone; or the 9J1-split-coil hum cancelling designs. i would think the single coil low noise pickups would offer the most dynamics, but not really sure. or at least tell me what you think of any of these mods because you have had the experience trying or owning one of these mods. (these seem like the most 'cost effective' quality pick-up mods that i could make, otherwise i might have tried the nordstrand or fralin pickups. tho i would like to know whether or not the nordy NJ4 single coils are superior for what i want to achieve.)
:?:

I havent modded any of my basses, I love them how they are.

I do want to comment on this thread though: It is HILARIOUS how open people are to m odding basses here, even on the warwick company website. EBMM literally runs you out of the forums if you suggest switching anything except the pickguard. They are OBSESSED with switching pickguards where I see most people here do electronics modding. Some may say this speaks to the idea that EBMM has better electronics, but I say that it shows us just what we care about: getting the best sound we can from our instruments, not about being able to switch out pickguards to go with the latest trend.

I love this place and these types of threads! Keep'em coming! 8)

I thought of the EMG-J's too, i think Mr Rabble once recommended that mod. Please let's know about the sound.

I replaced the input jack and the JAN on my SSII. I'm about to make a tutorial for exchanging the input jack and hope it will be helpful for everyone who's got problems with his input jack.
