This may be nitpicking, but I was wondering if, with the Seymour Duncan Basslines (the Musicman d4) if they can be covered so that the pole pieces aren't exposed. On the Seymour Duncan website, it says that the pickups are shipped with a cover - I would imagine it's a simple black plastic type cover that fits right over the pickup. Is this the way it is done?
Also, if I order a 44 mm nut for a 4 string, is the neck still made of 3 pieces of wood?

I might be wrong about this but the cover is the black plastic housing the pickup is in. :wink:

From what I see the Seymour Duncan MM pickup cover does not hide the pole pieces. If that is really important to you, the Bartolini MM pickups do not have exposed pole pieces. Oh and yeah . . . they are great pickups too. For more info on the Barts go to:
