just wondering if there are people out there who spend as much time cleaning and waxing there bass as i do

i wax and clean up once a week (while its still new) and it takes bout 45 mins to do the how process. just the one bass :D

its gotta be love i guess.

when i first got my bass i would wipe it down live after every song, i got real obsessive.

now its more like after the gig just give it a quick wipe

Very little, just rub of the grease after gigs. And rub of the strings now and then.

Probably don't clean/wax them as often as I should.

They both get a thorough cleaning and waxing whenever I change strings.
Lemon oil on the fingerboards, and a good coat of Warwick wax. It's easier to get in the cracks with the strings off.

O

I have a sytem for bass maintenance.I line up all 12 of my girlfriends & the first one to make me smile, gets to wax the bass.

I wax at least once a week, it's a relaxing thing to do, and the Dolphin was so dry when I got it, it's made a huge difference. I recently bought 5 cans of the stuff from Mike's Chop Shop.

Speak to Casey... ;)

I thought I heard my name being mentioned!

I tend to oil... oil... oil... and oil a bit more... No more Warwick wax for me! Just my trust old insane oil mixture! - Speaking of which, I just applied about a billion coats of tung oil and it really gave my bass a glossy finish. Although I really should of removed all of the scratches and dents before doing so, Now they really show through :P

Although I do call her Mojo for a reason :)

And I found that using 0000 steelwool and some linseed oil on the fretboard really cleans it up and makes those frets almost mirror like :D

Alex my boy, there comes a time in every man's life when comfort over rides cool. The hair on yer head migrates to your arse & back,& that smirk you think the ladies love, turns into more chins than a Chinese phonebook.
Also, when it comes to having long hair,be carefull of other people's little kids. There's a chance they're swimmimg with headlice.
