Hey,

i know that warwick uses mec leds for the fingerboard so my question is, some bassplayers have SimS Leds on their wicks.
T.m Stevens for example have SimS Leds on his wick, but the Pricelist of of the Warwick Cs Shop says that warwick uses mec leds.
what´s the different between the mec´s and the sims ? Is one of them better then the other?

Cheers

I don't know if there's a technical difference - but LEDs are LEDs. Maybe the wiring is different or SimS offer more colors then MEC, but I doubt there's any other difference.

BTW: A lot of Warwicks have SimS LEDs, because there just weren't any MECs available till few years ago. All LEDs in Warwick Basses were installed and made by SimS.

as far as I understood: Nope. Warwick is doing it all by themselves now.

i know one of the differences is that sims offers a inlay that intensifies the lights. and sims can install the lights in a bass that doesnt already have them. i've already contacted them about getting them installed in one of my guitars. but its not cheap and ill need to save first.

Warwick/MEC have always offered side LED's.
Front LED's were fitted by Sims until Warwick offered both front & side LED's a couple years ago.
The difference between the 2 are Warwick/MEC's LED's use different coloured LED's while Sims use one colour with a lens that controls the colour.
AFIK.

uhm... i noticed that one kind of led are brighter than other one.. after read greg's post, can i deduce that the brightful leds are the Mecs? correct me if i'm wrong! ;)
