I say this with the utmost respect Gerry,Mrs Gerry is a fine cut of a woman with excellent taste in basses. :wink:
 
Thanks bro', she saw me on the site that I spend so much time on and wanted to say hello. She loves the Thumb tone and taking pics. :)

Yeah, funny enough they have the complete Markbass line up here but I can't stop playing the TA501 through 2-10 and 1-15 cabs to play anything else. Before this I was an Ampeg guy but this combo makes me not miss my SVT 3 so much. I will try the F1 if it's there next time I go. I've only had this combo for a week and would love to hear feedback good or bad from anyone that gigs with this stuff!
 
Similarity between Thumb bass and F1 amp:

Tiny as molecules (to be honest I even think the F1 wins in terms of relative size...), but the sound...................they just fill the space to the brim !!!

Ok, I haven't checked out the F1 amp yet; it should be playable in July or something...............but I bet it's a gem.....................(definitely heard only good reviews of Markbass.........)

I gotta taste it myself !!!
 
Yeah, I was blown away by the sound but concerned about the weight because there is usually a trade off of some kind like with mp3 formats, you can fit a lot of info but the music seems flat and with less body than the records I grew up on. Also can it take a knock or 2? It's light weight but made of poplar wood so I hope that means durable. I take care of my gear but I would hate for one small mishap to end things. At first I thoght it was a little "hi-fi" in tone but that's actually one of the tones you can make if you want but the slightest adjustment to the vle or vlf makes tons of difference. When I look at reviews I skip past the 9- 10 across the board and try to find the bad points to see if they are valid. So far so good.

I'd love to teach her but she's a lefty and keeps flipping my bass upside down and to make things worse she only wants to learn how to slap after watching Lex play "Funktion" the other day! The moment those leds lit up that white Streamer it was a wrap. Guess I'll be saving up for the custom shop. :wink:

Yeah, I guess those who have been playing for awhile maybe before lefty basses were available had to flip them upside down. I've seen a few people do this. The finger style playing is one thing but slapping with your index finger and popping with the thumb is amazing to watch. I wouldn't even know how to approach that! Not to mention chords. Still going to wait to see if she's serious before I end up with a beautiful lefty Streamer that I can't use hanging on a wall used as a night light. arrrrg!
 
Some lefties string their lefty basses with the bigger strings at the bottom... Must be weird to play
 
Hey Kris,check out Jimmy Haslip from the Yellowjackets,he's one of those freaks that can flip a bass upside down & still thump the daylights out of it.
