Just purchased a Stage I '88

Hear this, i want to share this with you Warwickiacs.

I traded my infinity SN for a Stage I build around 1988 or '89

First impression:
Feel very solid, sounds great. one thing i would like to know is: how does this electronics work: it has got some kind of rotary switch which makes some (minor) adjustments to the sound but there is one knob (i suppose it is a tone control) that does not seem to work.

are there electronics schema's of these old stage i's?

From those photos, the neck is mainly maple with stringers.

sorry for the above, i meant to finish the post till after my breakfast but my youngest daughter (she's one) did it for me.

I wanted to add i found out what the 6 way switch does, it is some kind of mid selector to boost some very specific mid ranges, i find the way it works very subtle but i think it does not really work like it should or has worked previously.

more on the bass itself, it is kind of weighty but it surely does sound a lot different from my previous SSI and my other SSI and SSII (the II will not part me ever) that'sd it for now...

I don't want anybody to be upset, but to me it rather looks like a mid '90s bass, let's say 94 than 88-89. But I can be wrong.

The neck is maple with wenge stripes, as in today's basses
The electronics are not MEC, as we never had one with mid selector. To have effect, the mid pot should be boosted, and then you will feel the difference between various frequencies.

thanks Florin (for the cofee the serial number is J213 (stamped on the top of the headstock) so i must be that old...

about being back, i feel right at home again, i have been too occupied with other things (like having children) oops sorry this is the basses forum, i should talk about this somewhere else right?
