Hi. I have been playing various warwicks for the past 5 years, and have always been curious about the rockbass line. so i went out and bought one. I've got to say i'm impressed, I got a Streamer Standard 5 (2 PUP) as i was looking for a passive bass. Its a very good piece of kit. Sound and plays way better than my old fender p-bass.

Hi Wolfman

The Streamer Rockbass was my first fretless, and I'm keeping it as my back-up. There is something about it that makes it extremely playable... better than the Corvette Rockbass I used to have (and now sold to pay for even more stuff)... and yes... I prefer it to a p-bass!

how much were these p-basses that your comparing the rockbassses against?

my p-bass is a 1977 model, but has been fitted with a basslines quaterpounder. Used to be owned by the bassplayer of a scottish punk band.

I had a new US p-bass... with the S1 switching system.... cost about £850 at the time. In fairness, the whole passive, single p-up bass was not my thing (as it turned out). If I'd tried an active J-bass, things might have been different. But there's also weight, balance and playability of the thing. The p-bass was like trying to play a railway sleeper!

I know my Streamer Rockbass is also passive, but I chose to keep it as a simple (and battery-free) back-up. It's still more of a pleasant playing experience than the Fender!

hey i've new to the forum and i've had my rockbass for about 7 months now and it's amazing. i've owned about 5 different basses ranging from fenders, washburns and spectors but i felt most comfortable with this.

i'm planning on getting a Pro series 611 cab, anyone own one and could you give my an opinion?

Hi Kieran & welcome. Are you planning on using your Profet 3.2 with the 611?because the 611 is a 900 watt cab, better suited to a 1000 watt head like the Tubepath or X-Treme.I dunno how you feel about underpowering your speakers,I prefer not to myself but some people say it's fine.IMO you'd be better off running your Profet 3.2 into a 410 Pro,the 4 ohm model. At 300 watts & 4 ohms it's perfect.
Doh! I just read your sig.Have you considered getting a 1000 watt head? The X-Treme is an awesome amp & the Tubepath?man, that amp is the bees knees.Besides sounding fantastic, they're incredibly quiet & X-Tremely loud.Kinda like your Profet's big bro. I just bought a Profet recently, that's going to run my clean signal & the Tubepath I plan on getting will run the dirty.

yeah man im planning on getting either the tubepath or the x-treme, think of getting the head first then the 611 second. i mean i like the Profet but im wanting something a more powerful for on stage with my band.

Hi Kieran

Just spotted you live in sunny Donny... at least you can get into Electro to try out all those amps...

yeah man thats where i got all my warwick gear. i've been going to electro for a fair few years now and they never disappoint.
