I did a trade over on TB - I traded my Ovangkol/Ovangkol/Wenge 2003 Thumb 6 for a 1994 Thumb 5 that's Walnut/Wenge. I had decided to play 5's over all other string configurations this year, so I've been unloading 4's, 6's, and 7's. Never owned a Thumb 5 before. I thought it might sound thinner than the 6, since it has single coils, but that has definitely not been the case. It does sound a little less bright on the top, maybe that's the walnut.

Pics please :D . I just bought a 99 Thumb bolt on and I can not put it down.

It's really a fantastic bass. I've been playing it at church lately, and last nite we were practicing for our big Easter thing, and I was marveling at the tone it has. This is only my third thumb, and my first with single coils. It has such a round, full sound, still with plenty of the midrange growl that Thumbs are known for. I think Thumbs are much more versatile than they sometimes get credit for.

Very nice piece of wood!
