Any help would be appreciated folks.

I'm a little confused about the JAN III brass vs the JAN I brass. Are they really both brass or is JAN I just the brass one and JAN III made from a material called Tedur, with fiberglass-reinforced synthetic, which increases the durability of the nut without adding harshness or unwanted metallic sounds to the string's tone and it looks like its brass?

Thanks for the help

Man there is a big difference between 1 and 3 brass. Thanks for the links.

Okay my next question. Tone wise what's the difference between the synthetic and the brass that is pertaining to the JAN III.

I'm looking to purchase this thumb....Warwick Basses Amps & Rock'n Roll

and I'm not sure which JAN III to go with because I'm unaware of any tone changes between the synthetic and brass.

I have the JAN 3 tedur and played a brass one...the tone is extremly similar, though the brass will of course be more durable in the long run :)

I used to be a sound freak, being careful with all the details. Still I've never cared about what nut I have in my bass except that I prefer a solid, and long lasting and adjustable nut :-)
