JAN2 (Graphite):
+ Lower friction against the string.
+ Easy adjustment as you can leave the strings on during adjustment.
+ Light as it's a plastic/graphite hybrid.
- A lot of complaints as they are brittle. The side guides of the nut easily break during adjustment but I have no personal experience of that.
- No individual string adjustment possible. Only the level cross neck.
JAN1 (Brass):
+ Each string can be adjusted individually.
- More difficult to adjust as you need to lift each string off the nut for adjustment.
- Higher friction.
My personal preference is JAN2 so far. When it comes to sustain, JAN1 vs. JAN2 (plastic/graphite vs. brass) I have not heard any defference.
