Yesterday I finally got the chance to check out Jolly's new album on the high end stereo (Bryston amps, TDL transmissionline speakers which reach down to 20hz within -3db).

Besides this being the first prog-esque cd that doesn't have the geekish prog factor (the songs are really nice and really songs!) it occured to me that this is one of the best sounding productions I have heared in the last couple of years. Sterling did a splendid job mastering this. Yes it is loud and compressed like most CD's but it is not fatiguing like some Foo Fighters, RHCP and Metallica albums. Great job!

Anthony your CS Thumb sounds truly amazing on this album. Did it need much spicing up in the mix or does this bass just rule the skies all by itself?

So thank you Jolly for creating this masterpiece. I have been searching for good new music for quite a while and finally it has arrived in my living room.

Other music I listen to a lot: Faith no more (well anything Mike Patton tbh), Radiohead, Slipknot, Muse, Yes, Tool, System of a down, Deftones, Incubus. Jolly fits right in.
 
Great music indeed. I think Anthony mentioned he played a G&L, at least on The Pattern...

Wow, I wanna thank you guys so much!
Being that we do everything in house, meaning we recorded The Audio Guide on our own and our Drummer produced the album(Dave at Sterling did a great Job working with us mastering the album, but our Drummer/producer Louis should get credit for all of the sweat, blood and coffee that he put into it...), we wanted it to sound perfect.
It's an album we really believe in, so for you to really take notice of the production, sounds and arrangements on this album means a lot!

I used the G&L for the most part on this album. It has a great natural sound but I did go through my effects and filters to get those tones. I like my bass to have textures so didn't want the straight tone of the bass. I had a sound in mind for each song and then me and Louis worked together to get it to come through on the album.

We are actually letting people preview the whole album at for a limited time if you want to pass around this link to share our music.
We truly love our fans so we want you guys to just enjoy this thing that we believe in so much...

I am not good with words... How can I buy the whole album in FLAC or something, because as others said, it's been a long time since I've listened to something THAT cool!

Unfortunately I don't think it's available in FLAC. Digitally you can get it from iTunes or you can get the CD from our store(along with other cool stuff) at JOLLY SHOP — Home
I would say the CD is the best way to enjoy it... Also because the liner for the CD includes the lyrics and track listing to part II...
 
I can write up a quick howto about converting cd's to flac files if you need that Flo. It is quite easy with the right tools...

Hey guys! Sorry I've been pretty quiet lately. Cider Ox is right, we post a lot on FB so thats probably the best way to learn about whats going on with JOLLY specifically. We've been very busy lately, we just got back from a European Tour and we're trying to get on an opening slot for this Fall. Unfortunately it's harder then you would think, if anyone knows anyone who can help we're always looking for anything we can get!
We also made an animated video in my apartment the months right before we went on tour which we worked on everyday for 18 hours a day! We have no animation experience and no budget so we just figured it all out ourselves. You can watch it on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoVgMvHMaGk. Let me know what you think! Omg, what donyou meannyou have no animation experience? This is a very nice, and meaningful, and professional looking animated ciseo, congratulations!
Also as I said before, this is probably the nicest band I heard this year....
