I rather have a thumb, the bass is very limited in tone, that is unless you pair it with a JONAS HELLBORG STACK

I don't want one at all, not even if it was given to me for free. :?

Glad I'm a Thumb man: it keeps my wishes and dreams within financial reach...... 8)

id love one, i love the sound :D they're just wicked pricey. i'd like it if they had a sound hole too, so i could use it like a real acoustic bass...

We are brother on the same boat

My grandmother always told me to watch out for the Russians.....

... and here I am, on the same boat with a guy from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

From what Jonas has said in the past is that he designed this bass coz he loves the sound of acoustic basses as well as the lack of weight. He developed some bad back problems & this bass forces his arms & shoulders into a much more comfortable position.

I've seen videos of him playing it on you tube and it looks very uncomfortable to play. But that's just me. Personally, I would love to own one. I would probably never play it, but I would like to have it just so I could start a =JH signature club= post.

yeah, it would definitely be one of those things that would buy just to say you have it. I can get pretty close to his sound with my nemesis (which is great with a 15" cabinet, it was weak by its self).

The same reasons I want one...

I agree,he does look slightly awkward, but man,he can play like nobody else on earth.Alotta people dont "get" Jonas's style. But I think that's coz they arent listening closely enough or their taste in music just doesnt extend that far beyond conventional.Every time I listen to Art Metal,It amazes me like no other recording. It's not just what he does, but it's also how tight he does it.There are albums I dont care for, like one he did waith Shaun Lane. The one that's one long Indian hippy jam.
Now before anyone accuses me of having a non sexual man crush on Jonas, let's rememberJonas, myself & Prince were all born on the same day.So maybe some funky cosmic jazz-pop forces were working overtime that day.

what does this do in a reply?

maybe greg, maybe, I was born on the same day as Cliff Burton, and i play like him to the day

The birthday thing is the only thing we all have in common.I could never reach their level of skill.
I reckon I can play like Cliff,2 weeks after he first started.
