JAN I same dimensions as JAN II, JAN III?

I am looking at buying a brass Just A Nut I for my Thumb 5 Bolt On as listed on another bass site. Are the dimensions the same on all the JAN (I, II, III) nuts? My Thumb 5 nut is about 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 inches .. sorry I don't know the millimeters.

If you're Bolt On is the standard string spacing (not a broad neck) your nut width should be 45mm. I believe the broad neck nuts are 47mm. This is typical across all variations of the JAN's.

For reference the standard to metric conversion goes as follows.

Example: 1.75" X 25.4 = 44.45mm

Yes its a standard spacing Thumb 5 string. I did look it up in the Warwick Shop on the website and the JAN III nuts are 45 mm for a standard 5 string.

Any experience with a brass nut? The '97 Thumb NT I just bought has a brass nut. Are they better or no difference than the non-brass (not sure what the regular nuts are made of)?

1.77 inches is approximately 45 millimeters. I wish the US would go to meters, liters, etc.

It will be shorter from top to bottom. There will be space between the nut and the truss rod cover
 
The string spacings and nut widths have remained standard IIRC. BUT as was mentioned the JAN 1 will be narrower. see this:
 
Wonder if someone needs to mod the bass a little bit in order to retrofit a JAN 3 on a 95 bass ! Any thoughts .
 
You need either to file the trussrod cover, or to move it one millimeter.
