Jack input questions

Had to buy a new jack input for my new (very old) SS1. The one that came on the bass was very loose with my wireless cable. I got one from my local music shop but it was a few mm too short. Anyone know if these should be long enough? There seem to be no measurements anywhere...

Also...is it stereo or mono I need. I always assumed mono....but would rather check. When I went into the shop I've always just been given the correct type in the past without me having to ask.
