With HP finish, they should go for a normal maple... Would sound the same and would be leeeeess expensive.
Doog said:Greg and Ian, my first thoughts exactly. The flaming adds nothing to the sound, so it's just a waste of money. I've recently seen a transparent black finish over quilt maple on an Epiphone Les Paul Ultra, that type of finish would justify the AAA flame. But solid, no way.

He just didn't bother to change the wood (which would have been more expensive...
I know it's a litlle shame to hide the flames, but the result is stunning without having to worry too much about that...

Exactly, that´s the reason why we used this wood.Because AAA flamed maple is the default on Infinity NTs?
