issues with the electronic of my warwick ss2 88

I've an issue with the electronics of my warwick SS2 from 1988.
When the bass in put on passive mode, there's no issue and everything is working perfectly.
But when the bass is put on active mode (volume control pulled) , the treble control knob is working but the bass control knob is not working correctly: I can decrease the bass level and add some small bass (from 0 to 1 or 2). But the preampli is not working if the bass level is > to 3. In other terms, I can not put a lot of bass on the sound.
Moreover the sound on active mode seems to be saturating whereas the level of volume is not put to maximum.

Does someone have already been faced to the same issue?
Is there some schemes of the electronics that I could find in order to check if all the cables are correctly connected ?

Hello Franck, have you tried replacing the battery? That sound saturation you mention plus inability to boost bass, sounds like a dead battery to be honest.

Thanks for you help jester. Yes replacing the battery was the first thing i've done.
I've tried again and in order to provide you with more details, when I boost bass the sound of the bass is cut. (no sound). If I turn the bass knob to 0 or to less than 0, then the sound come back.
That's really strange. I can hardly think that the new battery I put was also dead. However I'll put the battery of one of my other bass into the warwick ss2 to be sure and will let you know.
In case you have another suggestion, I'm more than happy to know.

Try cleaning up the pot with appropriate product, otherwise you are due to find a competent tech around where you live.

Hi ,

Even with another new battery, the issue remains : boosting bass is completely cutting the sound of my SS2.
If no other suggestions from you guys, I'll have to bring my beauty to a competent tech in Paris as suggested by Alexandre.
